MEET THE PERSON-

1. what is your name?

Molly Dixon.

2. what is your favorite color?

I wish I knew that, I cannot decide to save my life, on any color.

I don't have a particular favorite color, but I love color combinations that clash, like pink and orange. Although, this year, I've been very drawn to green.

3. What is your favorite type of food or meal?

I am super easy, and I love pizza, and I'll eat anything. I could eat pizza morning, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and be totally fine. Since we've been locked down, my boyfriend and I, we actually haven't eaten out since March or picked up, unless it's been on set. my boyfriend's a really good cook, and he's been making homemade pizzas, which are above and beyond the way to do it, and he's gotten better, and better, and better at it.

4. what is a smell that makes you happy?

I can't really smell much of anything, which is why I have a Basset hound, because they're not great smelling dogs. I can smell sometimes, if it's a very strong smell, but because I can't smell that much, I can't ever articulate what the smell is.

5. if you could tell your younger self something you wish you knew now, what would it be?

just that it's okay to be into what you're into. When I was a kid, everybody was the exact same, and maybe it's still like that when you're little and young, but just to 100% be you, and you don't have to be embarrassed by what you're into.

6. who is your role model as a photographer?

Photographers that I've grown up loving, Guy Bourdin, Juergen Teller, Irv Blitz, Francesca Woodman, Nan Goldin.. I wouldn't think that any of those necessarily represent how I shoot or my style, but I definitely love their work, and that kind of stuff inspires me.

7. if you had one word to describe yourself, what would it be?

Unfocused

8. What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

I think most people probably wouldn't know that I'm a super shy person, and the first five years of my photography career, I didn't shoot people at all. I went through college and didn't shoot a single person, because that was just too much for me.

now that I'm a fashion photographer and deal with a lot of people regularly, I feel like that might surprise some people.

9. What’s one ingredient you put in everything?

Marie Sharp's hot sauce

10. Best thing to happen to you today?

that I got my plumbing fixed that I messed up yesterday.

11. If you wrote a book, what would it be about?

If I wrote a book, I'm not the expert in this, but this would be something that I would maybe try to figure out for myself as I wrote it, but itwould be a creative process book. just that journey, because I feel like that's something I'm always trying to figure out for myself. that's in my brain space a lot, figuring out what that creative process is for me, or what are the similarities for people that are creative, and the blocks, the path, and the journey they have to go through.

MEET THE PET-

1. what is your name?

Beans Dickson.

2. what breed are you?

Basset hound.

3. how old are you? human or animal years is fine.

Seven

4. What is your star sign?

Virgo

5. if you had superpowers, what would it be?

to fly with my ears

6. who is your role model in life?

it’s Molly’s boyfriend, because that's who I love the most.

7. tell us your adoption/rescue story…

Molly ran across me photo online, and I'm really biased, but there's nothing cuter than a Bassett Hound puppy, and she obviously got suckered into that.

That's how me and Molly came to be! It was a quick thing, but she fell in love with my little photo…I look like a little wrinkly old man.

8. favorite color?

tan. I love getting dirty and love dirt.

9. what is the ultimate cheat meal for you?

I feel like my ultimate his cheat meal would be just licking some kind of wrapper I find in the trash. That is what I get most excited about.

10. what nicknames do you go by?

Beanie

11. If You Had A Theme Song, What Would It Be?

The Pink Panther theme song

MEET THE PAIR:

1. take us through your morning routines together…

Beans is a huge morning person, ridiculous, over the top morning person, and I am not. Usually, our morning is Beans waiting until I make any kind of move so he can get on the bed and army crawl towards you. Then he makes a lot of noises in the morning, a lot of noises, and then he wants to go outside. Then he wants to zoom like crazy, crazy, crazy. Usually, he's the first to get up, the first to want to go outside, the first to want to come back in, and then he wants to run around the house for a while, then thinks about eating, then think about eating some more, then run around, and then thinking about eating some more, and run around, and then finally eats his breakfast around noon.

2. do you ever dress a like?

Oh no. Beans doesn't have any clothes. He has jackets or blankets I try to get him in the winter, but he's a very weird shape. He's a long shape, but it's hard to find winter blankets for him. He always has a winter blanket because he gets so cold.

3. what is your favorite thing to do together?

Well, we're doing a big house remodel. We're doing it ourselves, so it's taken several years. We're able to live there now, but there's still constant stuff to do. Beans thoroughly enjoys being there for every step of that. He's given up on being a studio dog, but he loves home renovation.

4. what is something Beans does that gets on your nerves?

Well, that he would rather be a shop dog with my boyfriend than come to the studio with me. He hates being at the studio now. He thinks it's really boring.

5. what is the funniest thing Beans has ever done?

I love his little noises he makes in the morning. They're so funny. He's just getting more, and more, and more vocal, and they're only one time a day. Those are my favorite things he does.

6. What is your funniest memory with Beans?

Funniest memory with Beans ... Well, this is just the funniest story with Beans, because it just sums up who Beans is. He is aggressively friendly, and he got kicked out of dog daycare because he can't read a room. He was just getting beat up on because a dog would be like, "I don't want to be next to you," and he just could not believe that. They told me he couldn't come back to doggy daycare for a while, because he was making himself a target, he was just so friendly and would not leave dogs alone.

7. how long have you been together?

seven years, since I got him when he was a puppy.

8. does your pet inspire you? if so, how and why?

Beans does not hold a grudge ever. He's always in a good mood. He's always excited to see anybody and everybody, and there's not a day where he's not feeling social. He's always on, so I wish I had a little bit more of that personality sometimes.

9. if you and your pet were an iconic duo who would it be and why?

we'd be Pinky and the Brain, because I'm grumpy, and he would be Pinky, and every day would be the same, and he would be excited about it.

10. what is the most meaningful experience you have shared with your pet either directly or indirectly?

I feel like the last seven years have been extreme highs and lows, ups and downs, and he's been there every step of that. That's most meaningful, just the history of seeing all the different things we've gone through. He's not a dog that is outdoorsy, he thinks he is, but you couldn't take him on a long hike or anything. He is so excited to be a part of your everyday, as much as he can be around you. I feel like just the haul of being together seven years, and all the different things, the highs and lows we've gone through, through that time.

11. If someone is on the fence about bringing a dog into their life, what would you two tell them?

Oh, that you should definitely get a dog. You should definitely get more than one. You should have like seven.
